Terms and Conditions
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Innovation Philosophie website and waitlist, operated by Pat Villaceran ("we", "us"). By using the site or joining the waitlist, you agree to these Terms.
The waitlist
- Joining the waitlist is free. It does not create a paid membership, and it does not authorise us to charge you.
- You agree to receive emails about Innovation Philosophie, including The First Thing, Embody, and the podcast. You can leave the list at any time.
- Send your own email address. Do not submit someone else's address.
- We decide when, and whether, to open membership or to offer an Embody piece. A place on the list sets no date, no price, and no product.
What the publication is
The First Thing is the Innovation Philosophie publication: a daily written read, a weekly audio hour, and an archive, when membership is open. Embody is a separate line of objects. Nothing on Embody is offered for sale on this website today. The Innovation Philosophie Podcast is a separate page. This website does not host episodes.
Paid membership, if it is offered
These billing terms apply only if you later choose a paid membership. They do not apply to the waitlist.
- Membership, when offered, is a recurring subscription at the price shown at checkout before you pay. Applicable taxes may be added.
- Payment would be processed by Stripe. By subscribing you would authorise a recurring charge until you cancel.
- A membership renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel first.
- We will give reasonable notice before a price change applies to a renewal.
- Delivery, if used, is through beehiiv.
Cancellation and refunds
These points apply to a paid membership, if you have one.
- You may cancel at any time from your account settings or by emailing hello@innovationphilosophie.org. Cancellation stops future renewals.
- After you cancel, access continues through the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Because a digital publication is delivered continuously, payments are generally non-refundable except where the law requires a refund. If you think you were charged in error, write to us within 14 days and we will review the request.
Acceptable use
Any membership is for your own use. You agree not to:
- Share, resell, or redistribute members-only content, login access, or an audio feed;
- Republish our content, in whole or in substantial part, without written permission;
- Use the site for an unlawful purpose.
We may suspend or end access that breaks these Terms. Where the breach is serious, a paid period may end without a refund, if the law allows that.
Intellectual property
The text, audio, name, marks, and visual identity of Innovation Philosophie belong to Pat Villaceran and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property laws. © 2026 Pat Villaceran. All rights reserved. A membership, if you have one, is a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to read the content for your own use. It does not transfer ownership.
No professional advice
Innovation Philosophie shares ideas and a method for building companies. It is for information. It is not legal, financial, investment, tax, or other professional advice. You are responsible for your own decisions.
Third-party services
We may rely on beehiiv for delivery and Stripe for payment if a paid membership exists. Their terms and privacy policies also apply to those services. We choose them for reliability. We are not responsible for their acts or omissions.
Disclaimers and liability
The site and waitlist are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim warranties, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability for a claim arising from the site or a membership is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. If you have only joined the waitlist, that amount is zero.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms. The date above will change. Where required, we will tell members about a material change. Continued use after the change takes effect is acceptance.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the business is registered, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction, except where a consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
